DORVETTI works with specialist manufacturers. We do not claim a workshop of our own. Our role is to define what a piece must be, and to decline pieces that fall short.
How stones are held
Prongs, bezels and pavé settings must hold stones securely without smothering them. We check that prongs are even and finished, that stones sit level and that settings protect the girdle of the stone.
Metal and weight
A ring band must be substantial enough for daily wear. Chains must be sized to the weight they carry. The metal is described precisely, including its fineness.
Finishing
Polished surfaces should be free of drag marks; satin finishes should be even. Edges that touch the skin must be smooth. The inside of a ring matters as much as the outside.
Clasps and fittings
Clasps must close with a clear, secure action. Earring backs must grip without effort. Small components are where jewelry most often fails, so they receive particular attention.
Our approach to quality
Quality is documented, not assumed. Where a piece comes with an independent gem report, that report belongs to the piece and its details appear on the product page. Where information depends on documentation we do not yet hold, the piece is not offered until we do.
